Amboseli National Park, the second most popular park in Kenya, sits on the border of neighboring Tanzania and is known for large herds of elephants in particular.

With its magnificent backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro, the habitat includes plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush as well as swamps and marshes. The wetlands are fed by the melting snows of Mt Kilimanjaro and are the only sources of water in this otherwise starkly beautiful but arid park.

The long dry season promotes excellent viewing of the large concentrations of African animals.
