Madikwe Game Reserve lies tucked against the Botswana border and on the edges of the Kalahari. It’s regarded as one of the finest conservation areas in Africa and its 75 000 hectares are home not only to the Big 5 but other major species as well, such as the leopard, buffalo and white and black rhino.
Madikwe lies in a malaria-free transition zone where a number of rare species of animal occur naturally, like the endangered wild dog and elephant. Madikwe is home to the 2nd largest elephant population in the country. The reserve is also home to over 300 resident and migrant bird species.
Ten ultra luxurious glass-fronted suites, each with its own deck and private plunge pool, offer absolute privacy and majestic views. There is a 2 bedroom family suite available offering the ultimate in vacation privacy.
Tuningi Safari Lodge, family-friendly and set in a valley on the western side of the reserve, accomodates 16 guests in four spacious Luxury and two Family Suites, all of which boast breathtaking views from private wrap-around decks.
